SPORTSMAN GOING IN FOR BREEDING. New York. June 29. — Clmrles L. Harrison, owner of the crack two-year-old. Waldo, did not buy Sun DaBCC at ta% sale of the Whitney stable Saturday with any idea that the filly might race successfully. Sun Dance has some speed and she is a good looker, but Mr. Harrison does not want -to race her. He is getting together a stud in Kentucky and wants the mare for breeding purtMises. Sun Dance is well bred. She was foaled at Brookdale Kara and Is a daughter of Ilwmb.rg and Irisb Reel. Irish Reel was by Exile, out of Round Dance, bv War Dance. Mr. Harrisons stud already consists of six mares, one of which is a daughter of Ren Holladay and Berric.lalc. This mare Is a half-sister to the successful rice horses. Kitileydale and Indexible. Mr. Harrison is much attached to racing, and. as becomes ■ sportsman of the first water, he wants to breed the horses that bear his colors. His sale of the four-year-old gelding. Alfred Noble. to James iaffney was quite a natural thing. Mr. Harrison and Mr. iaffney, who are warm friends, are intimately associated in a great eon st motive enterprise. Mr. Harrison Is one of the engineers of the Pennsylvania tunnels and terminals under construction in this city, and Mr. Gaffney la the .■ontra.tor in charge of the work. Frank Weir will train Alfred Noble for Mr. Gaffney.
