Miss Kearney ran well up from the start, but dwelt and was forced wide on the stretch tnrn, then just failed to get up in a persistent closing effort. Julia Powel set the pace from the start and seemed badly Itealen midway of the stretch, but held on with unexpected gameness and disliked the slightly cuppy track. Sententious was a forward and persistent contender throughout. Pantoutle. prominent to the stretch, tired, as usual, in the losing drive. Jeanne dArc was outpaced all the way. but linished dose up and Is improving. Desirous, a prominent contender for five furlongs, failed to stay. Bushranger ran forward]- for a mile and a half, then quit very badly and fenced clumsily throughout. Touchwood unseated ids rider at the tirst jump. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Niagara, away tioorly. was always well up and finished fast under a bad ride. Acumen, virtually lefl at the post, moved hi to quick forward pursuit and tired badly in the stretch, was short and is promising. Dantield was hopelessly outpaced all the way am is not ready. . _. Lighthouse, nearly left made up fifteen lengths under inadequate riding and showed surprising improvement. Oils Helm dosed a gap in .he las: half and so did Bigot. Golconda was badly messed about.
