ARNFRIED UPWARD WINS GERMAN DERBY. Hamburg. Germany. June 29. — The German Derby was run here Sunday. After a most exciting contest It was won hy the royal Qradlta Studs colt. Arn-fried Upward, which beat the Austrian hope. Heir .Merchls Kahlenberg. a short head. Strassvogel. also owned by the loyal Qradlta Stud, a hot favorite, was third. He had been declared to win. while Arnfried Upward was only run as pacemaker. Hen-Woinhcrgs Fervor, ridden by Reiff. and strongly support".], was nowhere. The attendance was larger than on the preceding Sunday, when the imperial family was present.
