SPLENDID OUTLOOK FOR SARATOGA. R. T. Wilson, Jr., Enthusiastic Over Prospects for Summer Meeting at the Spa. Saratoga, N. Y.. July 9. "Prospects are bright for one of the most successful midsummer meetings that have been enjoyed in Saratoga in years," said R. T. Wilson. Jr., president of the Saratoga Association, who is here In connection with preparations for the meeting. "Every indication points to a big meeting both from a standoiiit of high-class sport and a large attendance. Stable reservations up to date are larger than in years before and it lias been the more prominent men in the racing world who have made application for stable room. We are expecting all of the big owners here with the exception of Mr. AVihitney. who is in Europe. However, some of his horses will be contenders in Saratoga events. "Saratoga is to have no opposition cither from tracks In this country or in Canada. There will, of course, lie racing across the border during the Saratoga meeting, but Mr. Clyde, who has raced ex-tensivel3- in Canada, has already made reservations here, and Mr. Seagram has made arrangements to ship his string soon. Mr. Hendrie. one of the best known Canadian horsemen, will also have his best runners entered in Saratoga .events." Asked concerning the betting proposition here, Mr. Wilson said it was the plan of the Saratoga Association to see that the law as .interpreted is strictly lived up to. "Another circumstance which, to my mind, will attract both the best horses and people to the Spa this 3-ear is the fact that there will be racing every day. Racing intermittently such as obtained at the metropolitan tracks this spring and summer is not the most satisfactory kind, and I am sure that those interested in the sport will welcome a full return to the old-time style."
