GOSSIP FROM KENTUCKY. Cincinnati, O., July 9. Rome Respess shipped his horses cast yesterday afternoon. In the consignment was Wintergreen. the Kentucky Derby winner, which lias shown that he will stand training. Respess will leave for the east Saturday. He does not expect to race until the Saratoga meeting begins. C. C. Van Meter was here yesterday on his way from Louisville to New York. His two colts. The Fad and Lord Clinton, went east Tuesday and Van Meter stopped here to ship his other horses back to Louisville to be rested up for fall racing. Van Meter has had a good season thus far for the first time in four years. Before leaving Latonia C. J. Milam sold Sinfran to J. R. Stockier for ,000. He has turned out his promising maiden. Frank Stagg, on account of bad legs. Milam is at present at West Baden, where he will remain until next Tuesday, when ho will return to Latonia to ship his string to Windsor.
