j BARNEY SCHREIBER BECOMES A BENEDICT. St. Louis. Mo., July 10. Barney Schreller. the well-known turfman and owner of Woodlands Stock Farm, was married today to Miss Elizabeth Mary Howe, of Utica. N. Y. The marriage took .place at St. Francis Xavlcrs Church at 7:30 this morning, and the newly wedded couple will spend their honeymoon at Woodlands. The romance of the turfman and his bride b.-gan eight years ago. when tbev met at the home of a friend in California. Religious differences kept tic; coupje apart for years. Schreiber Is a Catholic, wlille his wife formerly was a member of the .Methodist Church. Tlie marriage linally was arranged after .Mrs. Schreiber adopted the Catholic religion. She has been in St. Uuls the past three months, studying and preparing to be received into the church of her husband. Rev. Father McErlane performed the wedding ceremony and celebrated nuptial mass at the church today. Mrs. Schreiber is a daughter of tlie late James Henry Howe, of Utica. N. Y. Her mother. -Mrs. Julia Howe, resides in Madison. Okla., and owing to her advanced age did not come to St. Louis to be present at the ceremony. Only a few friends were present at the ceremony. Tlie party included Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Chenler, with whom the bride has visited since she has been in St. Louis: the Misses Schreiler. sisters of the bridegroom. Richard J. Collins and Dr. and Mrs. Arrington. .Mrs. Schreiber gave her age as thirty-six years, while Schreilter confessed to forty-two.
