Hyperion II., from a good start, set a fast pace, raced Osorlne and Serenade into defeat and. standing the final drive gamely, just lasted long enough. Apache, forced to go wide for the first three furlongs, saved ground when turning into the stretch and momentarily headed Hyperion II.. but tired slightly in the clos ing strides. Tom Holland moved up with a rush after going three furlongs, but liore out badly In the stretch. Osorine quit badly in the last quarter. Clolsteress trailed distantly for a half and finished fast. Won easily: second and third driving. Topsy Robinson followed Anne SIcGee closely to the stretch turn, where she carno away to win eased up. Anne SIcGee broke from an outer position and was taken across sharply, causing a mix-up on the first turn, showed the most early speed, but found the distance a tritle far. Hooray had a rough trip, but wore the others down in the stretch. Pedro was prominent In the early running, but tired after going three-quarters. Ida Slay had no mishaps. Heine was knocked out of any chance on the first turn. The Thorn was caught In a jam on the first turn and fell. The winner, entered for , was bid up to ,000 and bought In. SIcadow began slowly, but moved up with a rush after going three furlongs and, taking a commanding lead after going a half, increased his advantage steadily, winning in a canter. All Red showed improved form and held Piute and Slichael Angelo safe for the entire trip. Piute disposed of Slichael Angelo after going a half, but was not good enough to beat the others. Galvesca was speedy and set a fast pace for a half, but tired and had to lie hard ridden to save second place. Turf Star was slightly impeded soon after the start, but lacked her usual high speed, went wide into the stretch and just got up for third place. King Solomon, ran a good race, but was in close quarters and would have lieen third with a clear course. Joe Slorrls was promiuent for a half only and retired and has lost some of his good early season fotm. The others were outclassed. Old Honesty was restrained for three-quarters, then moved up steadily, but had to be shaken up to wear Green Seal down in the last furlong and drew out In the last seventy yards. Green Seal showed the most speed, but was tiring at the end and barely lasted long enough to save second place. Tourenne liegan slowly, but closed a big gap in the last half and was going fastest at the end. Creel went well throughout, but was not good enough. Console ran forwardly for three-quarters and was then sharply knocked back and out of contention. Tannic also suffered from being crowded back.
