Sal Volatile, from a flying start, lapped the pacemaker for a half mile, then drew out decisively and won as her rider pleased. Queen Marguerite, from an inside bad start, had a rough early journey through close quarters, but came to the outside on the far turn and closed a big gap into a close second. Fond Heart was a game contender throughout and is extra good. Comedienne set the pace to the stretch turn on sufferance and quit badly in the closing drive. Paradise Queen, from an inside bad start, closed a big gap. Blue Tie ran .well up to midway of the stretch. May Amelia was easing up iu the last furlong. Tony Faust ran prominently throughout and challenged the leader in the stretch, but failed to get up and tired badly in the closing strides. "Taboo, in inside close quarters, was repeatedly shuttled back and closed up into a belated, but fast going, third. King Sol, away poorly, made up considerable ground. George G. Hall, from a striding start, set the pace lor six furlongs and retired. Sailor Girl. ran forwardly for half of the journey and tired as if short. Rye. very sore, met early interference. Baron Dieskau. ou the inside In close quarters and shuttled back repeatedly, was finally securely pocketed and second best. Levengston ran forwardly and persistently throughout. Ten Paces, nearly left, made up much ground and is very promising. Glen Helen, a grand looker, was prominent for a half milo and short. St. Deiniol showed superior speed in the stretch. Practical maintained striking distance pursuit of the pacemakers "and moved up ou the far turn, dashed through on the inside in the stretcli and. saving three lengths, just failed to get up and outstayed Fayette for second place. The latter followed Hilarious closely from tho start and took the lead and kept it to the final furlong, then gave way, but finished resolutely. Jack Denncrleii. in inside forward pursuit of the pacemaker, was pocketed frequently and drew out in the last sixteenth the seeming winner, but succumbed in the liual strides unexpectedly. Moltke. from a flying start, made the running to midway of the stretcli and was then surrounded and dropped hack, but held on well for third place. Amyl rau forwardly and gamely throughout. Salian, away well, was badly outpaced and pocketed in the stretcli. Flotield ran well up all the way. Diction, nearly left, showed brief early speed, hut quit in the stretch. King Holladav. nearly left, trailed to the stretch and was gaining at the end. Woodnitch ran prominently for six furlongs and quit. Saginaw was also prominent for six furlongs.
