- - ;i- THE GRAND UNION HOTEL STAKES : Besides smaller ones, Saratoga has two huge hotels the United States and Grand Union each having approximately a thousand guest rooms and each known to turfmen the land over. Kach has an important .slake race for two-year-olds named after it, of which the Grand Union Hotel Stakes is one of the attractions of this afternoons racing. Until IPOS it was of the guaranteed value of .0,000, but the blight that feii on racing when the Ilart-Agnew law was passed resulted in its being cut down to a comparatively low monetary endowment.
