Medallion, from a flying start, drew out early on the inside and held sway to the end. Is good and was lucky. Indian Maid, from a slow start, steadily improved her position into a fast going second. Loco, from a slow inside start, worked through a rough journey and closed up steadily at the end, but was pocketed. Herkimer, while in a brief lead, began boring out, was at once straightened out and quit badly in the stretch. Interpose, crowded out at the start, trailed the leading division and was gaining at the end. Livonia was sore and unfit, was in brief prominence and always well up and is of superior class. Spellbound, from a flying start, made the pace throughout and, in a game finish, scored a lucky win and ran away a mile and a furlong after Hie race. Miss Alert, after nearest pursuit for six furlongs, was displaced and crowded on the turn, but came again witli a great rush and just failed to get up after being pinned against the rail by the leader. Campaigner, shuflled rearward, trailed next to last to the stretch and got up for tldrd place in a remarkable closing sprint. Queen Marguerite ran in close quarters under a choking pull early and was shuttled back repeatedly on the far turn, then made a belated stretcli rush. Summer NIghi, pulling up at the start, had a very rough jonrney and was close up at the end. Aunt Jnle ran forwardly for seven furlongs, but failed to stay. Royal Onyx closed up rapidly on the outside in the middle running and appeared like winning momentarily in the stretch, but quit badly finally. Black Mate was badly messed about all the way. Hubert Cooper, from a bad start, ran into quick forward contention, but tired and was palpably short. Alice Baird was crowded out and virtually left. The winner was entered for ,500; no bid. Twilight Queen began slowlv in close quarters and was crowded out, but came through fast on the inside and could not quite get up, though wearing the leader down. Taboo, shuttled rearward repeatedly, closed a big gap in the last half under a bad ride. Rubia Granda ran in forward and strenuous pursuit, but failed to stay and likes soft going. AVapouoca, away very badly, trailed early and closed a big gap at the end. Racquet rau in prominent contention -for five furlongs, but failed to stay. Choirmaster of Chesterbrook was always outpaced. Personal was prominent for a half mile and quit badly. The winner was entered for ,100; no lid.
