I - SIR. MARTINS RACE IN FRANCE. a Particulars of Sir Martins race in the Tlch Grand ; - Frix de Trouville-Deauvillc at. Deauvillo, France, have been received. He carried on the running and defeated all but Binou decisively and gave the latter a hard race in the final quarter before tiring and succumbing. Tor the past two years Binou has been held to be the best of the older division of French race horses and to lie beaten " by hini. although disappointing, was no disgrace. Sir Martin was the favorite at O to 4. The distance of the race was a mile and live-eighths and It was run in 2:47. The record for that distance in this country is 2:43$. by Africander at Slieepshead Bay. July 7, 1903. in the I.awrenee Realization. Nine horses ran in the big Deauvllle race " and at the end Binou was two and a half lengths before Sir Martin, the latter being three " lengths in front of Cholu. Sir Martin has been Iieavily engaged in the English fall stakes and will be raced much more frequently than has been the case so far since he was seiit abroad.
