PREPARING FOR CHAMPION STEEPLECHASE. Saratoga. N. Y.. August 27. Kartlctt McLennan, the, Canadian sportsman who owns the jumper Agent, winner or last years Champion Steeplechase, and a probable starter in the one to be run at Belmont Park in October, is here from Canada. Agent is now schooling for the Great Autumn Steeplechase at Slieepshead Bay. Mike Daly says It will be Impossible to get Kara, the Grand. National winner of last season, ready for tins coming Champion. He has done little or nothing with the Herald gelding for some time. But James W. Colt will have one or two starters. The huutors Prince Hampton and Vaquero are good jumpers aud Daly will try to win with one of them.
