ELIGIBLES TO THE MATRON STAKES. Youngsters Left in the Colts and Fillies Halves of Belmont Parks Chief Autumn Race. In respect to value, the Matron Stakes will be the loading event of the Westchester Racing Associations fall meeting at Belmont Park. It Is for two-year-olds, with 0,000 added, and, under Its conditions, is divided into two parts and two races, one for colts and one for fillies, the money added being also divided so that ,000 goes to each race. Its original nomination in 1900 was of 471 mares, of which 103 produced colts and 174 fillies. Declara Hons have so reduced these numbers that there are now but twenty-six eligibles in the colts race and twenty-one In the llllies race. The final declarations were made August 15. There is one striking feature of the eliglible lists, and that Is that the powerful Keene stable is not represented in either race. Last year Mr. Keene won both with Helmet and Maskette and won the colts race in 1907 with Colin and in 1900 with Ballot. This year the other owners have the two events to themselves.
