POWERS PROBABLY DOWN FOR LONG TIME. New York, August 30. When the Jockey Club stewards inflict an "indefinite suspension" It usually means banishment for a long time. For that reason It is believed that jockey Powers will not be seen in the saddle again this year, if ever again. William Kuapp. a well-known jockey, was set down in a similar manner by the Jockey Club more than two years ago. and has never been able to have his " case reopened. No specific charges against him were made public, and the same thing has happened in other instances.
