Ilex, much used In racing with Carondolet in the early running, tired when the final drive came. Dangerous March finished gamely under a drive. Hedge Rose closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Eva Tauguay was much used In followlug the pacemaker and, as 1 usual, quit at the end. Betty Lester, off forwardly, was bumped and kept dropping back. The wlnnec was entered for 00; no hid. Class Leader went to the front soon after the start and drew away into an easy lead and outran and outjnnlped his opponents all the wav. Manzanos rider lost one of his stirrups at the second fence and this proved a serious handicap, he having all he could do to keep from falling off at the different jumps. Lizzie Flat moved up with a rush when going to the tenth jump, but took oft too far aiid all but fell and might have won hut for this. Iluddy could not keep up. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Palamon moved up with a game challenge-after entering the homestretch, hut was unable to improve his position in the last eighth. All Red ran well and outstayed Prince Ahmed in the linal drive. The latter ran a good race and was carried wide on every turn. Topsy Robinson was cut off at the half-mile post and taken hack. Zlpango, singly, place. 3 to 1: show. S to 5. Ben Double was waited with until making the turn into the homestretch, then finished with a great stretch rush and, wearing the tiring St. Jeanne down, just managed to get up in the final stride. St. Jeanne set a terrific, pace from the start and tired badly at the end, but hung on gamely. Alice George was a forward and game contender all the way. Tony Faust was never a factor. AI Muller outbroke the others and showed grwit speed to the stretch turn and tired under punishment, but finished resolutely. Marchmonet, a close contender all the way, was on the inside for the entire trip and saved ground on every turn. Hyperion. II. lacked speed and ran a dull race. King Avondale ran poorly. The latter ran well back until entering the homestretch,- where Ins" closed up with a rush, but tired after getting to the leader. Vesme came fast and gamely in the last,, quarter. Roseboro set the pace to the stretch, hut quit when it came to a drive. Carew finished well. Beau Bruinmel failed to stay the route. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched 8412SHiacko.
