THE RUNNING OF THE FLATLANDS STAKES ; : Jj, In its first year the Flatlands Slakes was a race for three-year-olds, but in its second year it was made a race for two-year-olds and such it has remained ever since. Being a selling race, it has never drawn the highest-class youngsters. Still, among its winners and placed horses are the names of many that won distinction in racing, such as Prince Lief, Box. Satin Slipper, Armament. Montanic, Waring, Autolight. W. R. Condon, Samara, Momentum, Monfort, Please, Magazine and Fashion Plate being of much more than average excellence.
