- " " ; THE TRULY INDUSTRIOUSSLAVES OF THE TRACK There is very little sport in raclng-to some unlucky horses. To them it is a matter of hard work, with a start almost every time a race crops up witli conditions that make them eligible. Their owners need the money and it is for them to be sent after it so frequently that many of them grow to bate, the vcrv sight of, a race track, a mood they- do not fail to show in .ways plain to those wise in the traits of horses. Still, the thoroughbred is a hardy horse and the amount of severe racing they are capable of withstanding is really surprising. In illustration, a list of the busy ones of this year is here given and it can ! trulv said that most of them have bad a very strenuous time of it so far in 1009. A great many people, who do not fully consider all the uncertainties of-racing, will find food for reflection in the following table, which includes all starts "of the horses named up to last Saturday: Horse.
