JOCKEY RANCH TO GIVE UP RIDING. San Francisco, Cal., September 10. According to a report from France, J. Ranch, the California jockey, is about to terminate Ills contract there and return home. He plans to live in the southern part of the state. The riders family lives near Rakers-field. Ranch has accumulated a snug fortune during his career on the turf. He was formerly with the stable of Burns and Waterhouse and met with much success until be grew heavy and decided to ride abroad. He has been riding with considerable success in France.
