NOTES OF THE TURF. W. G. Wilson now lias hope of saving Pagan Bey. which good jumper came out of his last race in bad condition. Woodford Clay has presented a handsome painting of Ocean Bound to the Brooklyn Jockey Club. The canvas has been hung on the walls of the clubhouse dining room, which are decorated with the portraits of many great racers of the past. S.. A. Clopton has arrived at Salt Lake City with Madeline Musgrave. Lord Nelson. Furnace. Merlingo and Prometheus. J. J. Qulnlan is there with Jolter. Kerry. Airs and Sir Barry and J. W. Moore was a recent arrival witii Genova and Camera. Willie Shea, who rode for Richard T. Wilson. Jr.. several -seasons back, has returned to New York from Mexico. Shea speaks enthusiastically of racing In tlie southern republic and says Tod Walsh. Richard Osmar anil other Americana have made 11 success of their southern venture. A half-brother to Waterboy. by Handspring, is conceded to he one of the turf stars there.
