RACING STRINGS ARRIVE AT LOUISVILLE. Louisville. Ky., September 17. Horsemen who will tr.ke part in tbe coming race meeting at Churchill Downs, .which begins on September 25 and ends October 9. have begun to arrive. A number of stables reached the local track yesterday and many more are expected today. They came here from Fort Erie. Montreal and AAindsor. Canadian circuit tracks, while several got in from the east and other points. All of them are enthusiastic regarding the coining meeting at Churchill Downs and declare that there will be more horses here to contest for the purses than were ever before present at a fall meeting in this part of the country. Among those who arrived yesterday were two trainers who are among the most prominent on the western turf. One of these is Fred Luzader. who handles the string of J. It. AAainwright. and the other is the noted veteran, Charles Hughes, who trains the horses belonging to Henry M. Ziegler. Trainer Hughes came to town with a number of tVo-y ear-olds uliich are yet untried. Hughes still believes Rarleythorpe. which lie recentlv sold to J. K. Gaffney of New Aork for 5,000. to be a splendid youngster. He thinks he will be heard from before the season is over and he does not think that the price paid for him was excessive. Fred Luzader got to Churchill Downs with a string of eleven horses. Tbe star of the bunch is Al Muller. Mr. AAainwright, for whom Luzader trains, took two of the horses to Montreal, where racing is now in progress on the Canadian track. Luzader will freshen up the bunch that is now in his charge and will prepare them for the coming meeting at the Downs.
