William Keating and Woods Garth have shipped to Baltimore for the autumn meeting at Pimlico. Mr. Keating took along Thomas Wrights Rio Grande and Mr. Garth took Superstition, besides his own horses. T. C. McDowell has a likely yearling at Lexington this fall in a son of Hastings and Mouarka. This youngster galloped a quarter in ,23 over the Lexington track recently. He is a half-brother to Alanarka. the sprinter that won at 50 to 1 at Graves-end not long ago. W. Fornian, who was suspended at Grsivesend Saturday as a result of the circumstance under which his horse. Monte Carlo, won a steeplechase race, js a brother of tho G. W. Fornian who was warned away from the Canadian circuit the past, summer pn account of the performances of Chief Hayes. Thomas Hitchcock. Jr., will run both his Ogdeu geldings in the Harbor Hill Steeplechase, because he does not know which is the better. Clockwork is a freer horse with his speed than Oakhurst. and just now he looks to be the bettor. But Mr. Hitchcock is inclined to think that the sluggish Oakhurst may outrace him. It is expected that the Belmont Park meeting, which opened Tuesday, will provide the usual freedom for patrons who desire to back their opinions. The Nassau County authorities enforced the Hart-Agnew law to the letter during previous meetings at the. Queens track, but at the same time refrained from anything savoring of persecution.
