Eva Tanguay took the lead after wearing Dixie Gem down In the first quarter and held the race safe through the stretch. Rowland Otis suffered from interference in the early running and finished gamely through the-last quarter, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Lou Lanier began slowly and was taken wide most of the trip, but finished with a rush and took, third place in the last stride. Simonette. closed a big gap in the last three furlongs. Dixie Gem tired after going a good half. Henderson was prominent for live furlongs. Ethelburg quit as if short. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Acquia ran a good race and held on well in the closing drive. Alice George closed a gap in the last quarter and finished gamely. Select II. would have been closer up with a stronger ride. Aspirin was knocked back soon after the start and forced to go wide, then came with a rush near the end. Lady Hill tired fast after going a half. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. Maid Militant moved up rapidlv after having suffered from interference on the first turn and, following Orlandot closwly for the first three-quarters, disposed of him In the stretch and wen going away. Orlandot was sent into the lead soon after the start and showed the most speed for the first three-quarters, then tired, but held on gamely in the final drive. Mauile Algol moved up with a rush on the stretch turn, but tireil in the last furlong. Cnrew ran only a fair rmv and can do much better. Banridu quit badly after going three-quarters.- Lillle Turner was knocked back soon after the start, trepps Beckham was almost thrown when he collided with Mamie Algol. Alice ran fairly well. Rosebnrg II. was a sharp contender for three-quarters. Denver Girl tired filst 111 the stretch. Harkaway " ran poorly. The others were always outpaced.
