HYPERION II. CAME TO THE RESCUE. J. S. Hawkins was "kidding" John Marklcln and. Charles Hughes at Churchill Downs last Saturday about selling two gold bricks in. Prince Imperial and Barleythorpe to eastern turfmen, and they handed it back to Hawkins by reminding him that lour years ago he sold Hyperion II. for n big price. When that six-year-old gelding won the fourth race, Hawkins yelled out: "There you are. When Barleythorpe and Prince Imperial get that old they will both be hauling milk wagons, instead of winning good races."
