HOPEFUL FOR RACING AT SANTA ANITA. Judging from applications for reinstatement filed with Secretary of State Frank Jordan recently by the Los Angeles Racing Association, a hopeful effort is to be made to revive racing in California in the near future. The Los Angeles Racing Association, of which Anita M. Baldwin is one of the directors, allowed its charter to lapse through non-payment of the corporation license and franchise taxes. Accompanying the application received were checks covering delinquencies. The racing associations charter lapsed on March 4 of this year. For some time it lias been rumored that an effort will be made to revive racing ,and that the next session of the legislature will be asked to legalize the sport. The directors of the Los Angeles Racing Association are Clara Baldwin Stocker, Harry R. Stocker, J. F. Mnllender, Anita M. Baldwin, Arthur G. Fiske, I. Wertheimer and Frank G. Martin.
