GLORY BELLE began slowly, but moved up rapidly on the outside when entering the homestretch and, wearing the tiring leader down, got up to win in the final strides. LORD BYRON set a good pace and raced into a long lead in the early running, but tired when the winner challenged. KENTUCKY BOY raced forwardly and outstayed the fast-coming GREAT DOLLY". CHARLCOTE easily passed FAIR HELEN in the last quarter. The latter set a fast pace and quit at the end of three-quarters. BORROW ran a game race, but was tiring in the lust sixteenth. FLITTERGOLD finished close up. SHORT GRASS quit after being a prominent contender to the homestretch. ROSE JULIETTE closed a big gap and finished with a rush. TIE PIN ran well, but tired in the last sixteenth. LINDA PAYNE fell on the stretch turn and TOM HANCOCK stumbled over her.
