EOS FIRST IN THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE. The Newmarket Houghton meeting came to a close yesterday and so did Englands flat racing season of 191C. The most important stake race of the meeting, the Cambridgeshire Handicap, was run on Wednesday afternoon and was contested by seventeen starters. At the finish Lord dAbernons fine three-year-old brown filly, Eos, by Orby Renaissance, with Smyth up, 104 pounds, was first by two lengths; with L. Neumanns five-year-old bay or brown horse, Lanius, by Llanglbby Mes-ange, 120 pounds, second, and Lord Decies four-year-old bay colt, Ballaghtobin, by Morganatic Fiorenza, 115 pounds, third; distance one and one-eighth miles. It was 10 to 1 against Eos, 100 to 12 against Lanius and 4 to 1 against Ballaghtobin.
