PRECISE began slowly, but moved up with a rush after entering the homestretch and raced into a safe lead in the last sixteenth. BRIGHT STAR raced forwardly. but tired after taking the lead. TYRANT raced well and outstayed OTSEGO for third place. PATAPSCO set a fast pace to the stretch and tired. MERCHANT quit as if short. DOM MORAN was under restraint for most of the way. but his rider not seeing HAND-RUNNING closing up almost threw the race away. HANDRUNNING closed a gap with a rush on the inside and passed GLOUCESTER in the last fifty yards. The latter fenced well and showed the most early speed, but tired. SIXTY FOUR was saved until in the last turn of the Held, went to his knees at the ninth fence and almost lost his rider, but recovered and drew out into a long lead in the last eighth. J. R. JOHNSON was much used in racing RACEBROOK into defeat and tired. The latter also tired badly in the last quarter. MARCH COURT lost his rider at the twelfth fence and CHAS. THE DECISION - followed the pacemaker- in closest pursuit until straightened out for the flmil drive, then came fast and won drawing clear. JACOBA was cut off in the stretch when closing up and finished fast and gamely. MARSE HENRY tired hi the final drive after racing into a clear lead. ANITA ran well.
