STEEPLECHASE RACES FOR MAIDEN JUMPERS. The unusually large numbers of maiden hampers in training this spring is thoroughly appreciated by most of the racing secretaries, and at all meetings under the auspices of the hunts committee, races will tie provided for the newcomers, that is non-winners. This means good fields of a really high-class. for among the non-winners will be found a better class of horses than ever before. Among the imported division are at least a dozen whose form on the flat was considerably shove the average and whose schooling has been such as to justify predictions that they will prove worthy of a right to meet the best of the educated division. Thomas Hitchcock has several by Yankee, foaled in France. that have done all that has been asked of them in 1 " a way that demands attention from the experts.
