NEW ZEALAND RACING CONTINUED. With less than half of the population of Ontario and more than twice as much racing in a year, the New Zealand government apparently sees no good reason for altering the conditions governing that situation. Approaches were recently made to have all totalizator permits Suspended during the war. As bookmaking is barred in that dominion, this was equivalent to suspending all racing. The acting premier, Sir James Allen, has replied to the petitioners that their request had been considered, but the question of acting on it had been deferred for three months.
