IRISH HORSES ARRIVE AT WOODBINE. Thrce-Year-Old Iron Cross Star of the Band Sent Over by Irkh Bloodstock Agency. Toronto. Ont.. April 23.- -The six Irish horses that •were wintered at the farm of John Gaxtshore, near Aneaster, took up quarters at Woodbine yesterday, and form an interesting addition to the racing material for the appro aching season. Ireland has produced so many horses of the highest elass which have been credited to England that Irish breeders have recently Ix-e-n successful in a movement to establish the identity of their produce by the enactment of a regulation that the export certificates of all horses bred in Ireland shall state that fact. They hope from this to gain in future full credit for the excellence of the output of Irelands stud farms. The band wliieh came in yesterday were sent out by the Irish Bloodstock Agency of Dublin, which selected and sent out last year Fair Mac, the winner of the Jockey Club Cup. the two and a quarter miles race at Woodbine. They include one steeplechaser, the aged gelding Never Fear, a winner of ten races, in Ireland and in England, nearly all under big weights. The threo-year-old Iron Cross is one of the stars of the contingent. He ran three times as a two-year-old, finishing the season by winning the Cur-ragh Plate, one mile, at the Curragh. Kildare, last November. Fourteen ran. anil Iron t ross won in a canter by four lengths. Rachclors Rliss anl Kil-croney are excellent i rospccts, Kith by the successful sire, Tredennis. The latter is a son of Kendal. and his progeny have won Mi races in Ireland and England. The horses and their pedigrees are: Never Fear, b. g, 10, by CTonmel — Lady Gleuwood, by Hackler. Eachelors Blend, ch. m, 5, by Tredennis— Lady Rem. by Rerneleugh. Annie Edgar, b. f, 3, by Sir Edgar— Lady Castle, by Gallinule. Bachelors Bliss, blk. c, 3, by Tredennis — Lady Black, by Le Noir. Iron Cross, b. c. 3, by Galloping Simon — Madame Gull, by The Gull. Kilcroney, br. f, 2, by Tredennis — Innocency, by Derncleugh. The only other arrivals recently were the five that Mr. Robert Newell moved down from uptown winter quarters: Ravencourt. Matrix, Debris. Judge Ierry and Luckmore. The last named two are two-year-olds, by ITaudmore. from Satin Rower and Luerusto. and both have shown speed worthy of their sire.
