Both Wi ton. i ami Firing Line came from behind ami won going away from their opponents. Filing I.iiies victory came with the running of the Iikesville Handicap, in which several good threeyear-ohls were making their first appearance of the season, among them Fltimatum. Rond igc and Cadillac ITtimatum diowed the mist s[ 1 in the race to the stretch, but lack of condition told and he tired after going five eighths in the lead. He showed in the race that he still possesses the keea turn of sated he so ofata llsaliiiid last year. i.ondagi has Bpres 1 on* since last year and evidently wintered well. During the afternoon Joe Nutter got in with Efarrj Payae Whitneys Tumbler, which will start in the Ireakness Stakes here on Saturday. .1. Williams will have the mount ou the colt in this stake. There are two Steeplechases on tomorrows program. The conditions of one calls for maidens and there are sixteen arded to go to the post. .1. K. Davis, chairman of the Hunts Committee, entertained a party of friends at luncheon in the club house. He startled his guests as well as his fellow owners, by appearing in a new suit close to perfection as a daily hint from Paris. Thomas Hitchcock, besides being aa ardent sportsman, is one of the most skillful horsemen in the business aad deserves great credit for bringing those two good stei phchasers Kintore and Rryndor hack to the races. The former hawed a tendon no less than four different times and was out of commissi. in for tWO years. Rryndor, besides being b.. wed. broke one of the small tiones in his knee anil was also retired for two years. Rryndor showed a really good performance on Saturday, wlien he won tic Crickmoro Steeplechase at Pimlico. During the winter ! ths Mr. Hitchcock gallops his own horses at Aiken for pastime. Jockey Ambrose was suspended by the stewards for three days for rough riding, his principal offense being on Fenmouse. Samuel Ross promising tsss-yoar-oM Tmatilla developed fever this morning as a result of coughing aad her trainer was given permission to scratch her in the Driving Iark Purse. Jockey Rolinson to Ride Rickety in Derby. Jockey Frank Robinson will leave for Louisville Thursday night to tide Harry Payne Whitneys Rickety in the Kentucky Derby. Robert Walden has decided to ship a division of his stable to Wilmington. Another Pimlico innovation has been introduced by the management. Hereafter entries in all selling handicaps will close at 3 oclock, two days preceding the running of the race. This WU enable a division of the run up money accruing from selling races to be added to these races. This certainly looks like a good rule, as the better class of horses have been racing for less money than the platers. Colonel William Lincoln Crosby will probably ship the jumpers Precise and Runaway to Canada at the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting. Thomas Hitchcock, 11. W. Sage, and J. K. Davis are also considering sending a division of their stables to Canada.. Thomas McCreary has already engaged stalls at Woodbine Park for the jumpers he is training for A. J. Davis. Racebrook is one of the number. T. .1. Ilealey, who left Saturday night for Rel-mont Iark to work the three year old Campfire, found the colt coughing on his arrival and was unable to work him.
