OMAR KHAYYAMS SENSATIONAL WORK. Goes tho Derby Route in 2:07% with Jockey Borel Up — His Connections Hope for Fast Track, Lexington. Ky.. May 7. — Omar Khayyam, which Will carry the Billings and Johnson colors in the Kentucky Derby next Saturday, worked a sensational mile and a quarter Sunday morning in 2:07% over it track little faster than that of Saturday. Omar Khayyam, with jockey Borel in the saddle, making weight at 1-1 pounds, went the quarter in 25. half in 4Sf,. three-quarters in 1:15%, mile in 1:49%, and the mile and an eighth in 1:33%. Trainer Patterson is hoping for a fast track Derby day and if such is the case is confident that Omar Khayyam will be there fighting it out at the finish. Midway worked Sunday morning a mile and a quarter in 2:11%, hard held. Westy Hogan went three -quarters easily in 1:10%: Bribed Yoter. E. R. Bradleys Derby eligible, went a mile in 1:40; Sedan a mile in 1:40: Moscowa a mile in 1:45*r: Jane Straith three-quarters in 1:1K. and Squeeler and Fly Home three -quarters in 1:17%. On Friday a number of horses were given stiff work over the heavy track. Howard Ooots Derby candidate Atwell was sent a mile and a quarter Friday morning in the heavy going in 2:12, the fractional time being as follows: 94%, 50, 1:10, 1:43%. The best work at three -quarters was Pif Jr.s 1:19%, Executors 1:20, and Hasty Coras 1:21%. Rifle Shooter showed speed and ability to run smoothly in the sloppy going when he worked seven-eighths in 1:33. going the quarter in 24%, half in 50, five-eighths in 1:04% and three-quarters in 1:18%. Other works worthy of mention were Miss Fannie, five-eighths in 1:06%; Kernan. half mile in 53; Fair Orient, three-eighths in 39: Embroidery, half mile in 53%; Butcher Boy. half mile in 52%; Yogue, five-eighths in 1:07; Half and Half, half mile in 38%; Shadow Lawn, five-eighths in 1:06%; Anthonys Last, half mile in 53; Sansyining, five-eighths in 1:00%.
