The latter ran a good race, but tired in the stretch drive. ROCKY MOUNTAIN ran well. GRACE MAYERS began slowly and worked her way up on the outside. LAST ONE set a fast early pace and held on more gamely than usual at the finish. LADY MEAVE was outrun early, but came with a belated rush near the end and got up for third place in the final strides. HILDUR was much used in forcing the pace and tired. INCOG was much used in racing MESSINBS into defeat and tired. MESSINES raced into the lead on the last turn, but failed to stay the route. SMART GUY set a swift early pace and quit.
