TO WINTER AT THE JAMAICA TRACK NEW YORK, N. Y., October 17. With the sale of Gravesend race track to a real estate firm many metropolitan horsemen who used the old course as winter quarters for their stables have been casting about for other locations for the winter months. The problem was solved for a number of them today when the Metropolitan Jockey Club announced that the Jamaica race track would be kept open for wintering of horses this year. The following have been assigned stable room for the winter by superintendent Thomas Maher: Fred Taral, trainer for Riviera Stable; F. M. Taylor, trainer for Montfort Jones, J. J. Hallen-beck and J. E. Madden; Fred Burlew, trainer for B. Block, and the Kilranc stable.
