CLAXSMAX, after racing in close pursuit of the leaders, took the lead on the last turn and drew away in the stretch to win in a canter. OPPERMAX finished fast and gamely and outstaved DOLORES at the end. The latter ran well, but tired in the last eighth. YASHMAK was in close quarters at the half-mile post and wis knocked back, but finished close up. CIIAMPLA1N set a fast early pace and tired. YANKEE STAR ran poorly. FORMISTRESS jumped wide at several fences and finished with a belated rush. ROBERT OLIVER was under restraint in the early running and moved np with a rush, but was bothered and forced back. A claim of foul was lodged, but not allowed. LE SIARSOUIN tired. OVERMATCH ran wide for the entire race. LE CYFRIX Inst his rider at the fourth fence.
