At post 5 minutes. Start good and slow. Won. easily; second and third driving. SAN DIMAS took the lead at once and, setting a good pace, drew away in the stretch and won under restraint. COMEDY was hard ridden and made a game finish, but was unable to reach the winner. BY PLAY was a forward contender throughout and responded gamely when called on in the final drive. PRAISEWORTHY raced well. OUTCROSS began slowly and closed a big gap, but lost ground when entering the stretch. LITTLE THISTLE ran well for a half. FOREST FLOWER began slowly and closed an immense gap into a fast-going second. BABY LANE, away forwardly, raced on the inside all the way and gamely outstayed FREE HAND. The latter began in close quarters and was rushed into the lead and set a fast pace to the eighth-post, where he tired. FRIDAY 13TH was going fast in the final strides. STAKE ME had no mishaps. EVENTIDE QUIT. CONVENT was repeatedly cut off and forced back. THE POET was eased up at the end. OLYNTHUS, on the outside while going down the backstretch, was taken in behind the leaders on the last turn and could not improve his position in the final quarter. PEDDLER began somewhat slowly, but gained rapidly after coming wide into the stretch and losing ground and, finishing gamely, wore STONY POINT down and won in the last stride. STONY POINT set a fast pace and drew away in the stretch, but was tiring at the finish. PLENTYCOOS was an easy going third. KNIGHTS BRIDGE was badly outpaced. Overweights Conundrum, 2 pounds.
