PIMLIC0 PLACE OF BEAUTY Presents Charming Picture in New Coat of Paint and a Number of Improvements. LAUREL,, Md., Oct. 5. W. P. RJggs, secretary of the Maryland Jockey Club, was a visitor at Laurel and was warmly welcomed by his many friends. W. A. Burttschell, who has a couple of horses at Pimlico, said in regard to the improvements: "Pimlico in its new dress of paint looks charming, and patrons of the course will be agreeably surprised at the many improvements made since last spring. The entire shed row has been demolished and in its place several new barns erected. There are 103 more stalls on the grounds than ever before. Four new stables have been built on the backstretch, one with fifty-eight stalls and three with thirty-eight stalls. Two other new" stables have been built on the section immediately in the rear of the grand stand. Gravel walks have been laid out around the stables and a new wire fence built around the entire plant." .
