STEFAN THE GREAT HERE j; E. Wideners Recent Purchase Arrives in This Country To Be Sent to Kentucky Stud. NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct 9. Joseph E. Wideners recent purchase, Stefan the Great, arrived on the steamship Minnewaska yesterday. The son of The Tctrarch shipped well and is apparently in fine condition. He will be sent immediately to Mr. Wideners Elmendorf Stud in Kentucky, where he will take the place of Sweeper II. Included in the consignment of horses which arrived from England were three weanling colts, a filly and a brood mare, owned by Walter J. Salmon, and a yearling colt which was sent to Thomas Healey at Belmont Park. Following arc the horses consigned to Mr. Salmon : Bay colt weanling by Bachelors Double Princess Sterling. Brown filly weanling by Swynford Brig of Ayr. Chestnut colt weanling by Swynford Zefa. Chestnut colt weanling by Lemonora Snowcapt Snowcapt, bay mare, four, by Roi Herode Snowflight, by Cyllene. The brood mare Snowcapt was purchased by Mr. Salmon in England last year and cost him ,500. The yearling sent to trainer Healey is a bay colt by Gainsborough Fortuna,
