KINGS RANSOM worked his way up steadily and, coming fast on the outside of the leaders in the stretch, look the lead and was going away at the end. BONTAUD dwelt at the start, but rushed to the front and tired badly in the stretch. MOON STAR saved ground on all the turns and got up in the final strides for third place. DOUBLE TIP was a forward contender all the way and made several challenges, but the winner easily held him safe. THE TROUT raced gamely, but could never get up. MINATA jumped well. ROMANA showed improvement and one of his bandages became loose. PIRATE GOLD fell at the eleventh jump and NONUS fell over him. BENHEATHER ran out and was pulled up. The latter set a fast pace under mild restraint, but could not withstand the winners rush. BIGHEART raced to the leader with a rush on the turn out of the backstretch, but tired. PASTORAL SWAIN raced close up and finished gamely when called on, but impeded riLGRIM sharply at the head of the stretch, for which he was disqualified. PILGRIM forced a fast pace and was knocked back when PASTORAL SWAIN swerved against him, then came again at the end.
