It is appropriate and right that the Latonia Championship Stakes was selected as the race to bring together the two great rivals, selected from all the other three-year-olds as the best of the year to represent America in the International race against the Epsom Derby winner Papyrus. Country-wide interest is being displayed in the coming struggle of these two marvelous thoroughbreds, and a crowd that will tax every inch of "Fair Latonia" will be present to see the contest, which incidentally will provide a wonderful climax to a wonderful season of fall racing at the picturesque Covington course.
