" Jw. , . Three -Year -Old Championship of 1923 at Stake ZEV MY OWN Brown Colt, by The Finn Miss Kearney Bay Gelding, by King James Bettie Landon When Zev and My Own meet at Latonia next Saturday not only will the much discussed question as to superiority of the one over the other bo settled, but the three -year-old championship crown of 1923 will also go to the winner. It is appropriate and right that the Latonia Championship Stakes was selected as the race to bring together the two great rivals, selected from all the other three-year-olds as the best of the year to represent America in the International race against the Epsom Derby winner Papyrus. Country-wide interest is being displayed in the coming struggle of these two marvelous thoroughbreds, and a crowd that will tax every inch of "Fair Latonia" will be present to see the contest, which incidentally will provide a wonderful climax to a wonderful season of fall racing at the picturesque Covington course.
