. v LAUREL RACING NEWS C. N. Freeman and W. M. Sheedy have arranged to ship their horses to Jefferson Park, on Tuesday. . W. M. Mason acquired Sea Pirate at publlo sale yesterday for 00 ; the horse formerly raced in the colors of J. S. Tyree. Scott Harlan came down from New York to look after Exodus, which carried the colors of the Greentree Stable in the Washington Handicap. Earl Sande and Frank Hackett left for the Rancocas Farm after the running of the fifth race. The Rancocas yearlings will be tried out tomorrow. William Woodward, a steward of the Jockey Club and .who maintains an extensive breeding farm at Belair, Md.. was an arrival from New York. At the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting-Jack Campbell will leave for New Orleans to be on hand for the opening day of the Jefferson Park meeting. Two horses changed hands yesterday via. the claiming route. W. M. Reid secured Poe for ,000, while Frank Kearns acquired his old favorite, Spugs, for ,800. Old Welbourne, which Shelby Burch la handling for Dr. A. C. Randolph, a cousin, of Admiral Cary T. Grayson, is developing into a useful sort of a racer. Probably the horses improvement is in a measure due to the Admirals rooting ability, for he certainly shows more enthusiasm when this colt runs than he does when his crack My Own sports colors in a race.
