LATEST MARYLAND GOSSIP Frank Hackett came over from New York to saddle Little Chief in the Washington Handicap. S. C. Hildreth, who looks after Little Chief for the Colorado Stable, was detained in New York. John Pangle is an arrival from New York, where he went in search of material for a winters campaign in Cuba. He has four in his stable at present, but intends adding a couple of more to his string. Harry F. Sinclair was a visitor at Laurel this afternoon and was shown over the plant by Luke A. Cassidy, resident manager. Mr. Sinclair was very much impressed with the manner in which the plant was run and pronounced the secretarys building and paddock the finest he has ever seen on any race track in this country.
