JOCKEY ROBINSON EXPLAINS NEW ORLEANS, La., Feb. 28. The stewards had owner Livingston and jockey Cliff Robinson before them to explain the alleged bad ride he gave Biff Bang. Robinson claimed that when he made his move on the far turn. Cooper, on the winner, carried him out. John Carey, the patrol judge, corroborated this statement. Robinson also said the horse will not stand a whipping finish, as he bears sharply to the inside. Livingston bore this out, stating that he can only start the horse in the mud. The stewards can find no evidence of fraud in the betting and have dismissed the case with a warning to Robinson to put more life in his work.
