t SARATOGA TURF NOTES SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. lS.r- At private terms John T. Kermath purchased Adamant from J. Armstrong. The condition books for the fall meeting at Woodbine Park were distributed today. Jockey E. Scobie arrived from Fort Erie and will ride here for the stable of E. F. Whitney. Starter Harry Morrisey arrived from Fort Erie for a days racing, and left for- Windsor, Ontario. Jockey H. Howard was suspended three days for crossing the others in the fourth race with Wilkes-Barre. John Pangle was an arrival from Canada and purchased from T. J. Healey acting for R. T. Wilson the plater Tango. J. W. Healey was an arrival and stated that the A. C. Eostwick stable had ai-rived at Belmont Park in good condition. On the report of the patrol judge, jockey C. Lang was suspended for three racing days for rough riding in the fifth race today. Harry Unna claimed Fabian for ,500. and William E. Pepperly took Ceylon Prince for the same amount out of the fifth race. Jockeys Earl Sande and W. Keating are doirtg nicely according to reports from the Saratoga Hospital from their respective physicians.. James Ross, superintendent of Havre de Grace race course, who has been here for a week, left for Maryland today and will soon be busily engaged making ready for his September meeting. Etoile dOr came out of the running of the Spinaway cut pretty badly behind and will not be seen in some time. The injury is several inches long. Chopsticks was scratched from the steeplechase after an explanation had been made. Trainer Mat Smart made the mistake in tho entries and the horse should have been Trap-stick. S. R. McDaniel, on his return to Belmont Park will pick up the horses Silent King, Three Square, and Mitau which have been turned out at the Schutts Farm in New Jersey. The yearling by Huon Valley of the Moon, which was sold to A. G. Blakeley Friday night for ,G00 it is understood is destined to race for T. IT. Bernhardt the New Orleans sportsman. It develops now that Exodus had an excellent excuse for his bad showing Friday. He came out of the race so badly cut down that there is fear he probably will never race again. It has been announced that there will be some material increases in the stake values at Tijuana for the racing next winter. The Coffroth Handicap will be of 0,000 added and the Tijuana Derby will be increased from 0,000 to 5,000 added. The Derby will be run March 15, according to present plans.
