V Twenty Years Ago Today Chief Turf Events of August 19, 1904 Racing at Saratoga, Hawthorne, Highland Park, Detroit, and Fair Grounds at St. Louis. Spring stalled off the closing rush of Adriutha by a head for third place. After todays performance horsemen were unanimous in pronouncing Fort Hunter one of the best three-year-olds of the year.
