GREY LAG TRAINING WELL Crack Racer Likely to Start Against Epinard in Mile Race at Aqueduct. NEW YORK, N. Y., Sept 3. Grey Lag, one of the greatest American thoroughbreds, promises to be back to winning form before long, judging by a workout he had after the running of the second race. With Laverne Fator in the saddle the handsome chestnut son .of Star Shoot Miss Minnie was sent along for an easy mile in 1:41, after having gone the first half in :50. He was under restraint all the way and came out of tne move apparently none the worse for his gallop. Grey Lag is a candidate for the mile International race at Aqueduct against Epinard and the manner in which he is training suggests that he will be a starter. His next regular engagement is in the mile and a quarter of the Twin City Handicap to be run at Belmont Park Tuesday but it is doubtful if he will fill that engagement
