LATEST TURF GOSSIP FROM NEW ORLEANS NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 17. Charles W. Ross, trainer of the Joliet stable, has been granted a trainers license. Trainers licenses have been issued to Chester OMalley, J. M. Pitz, Ham Olsen and JW. J. Huff. Jockey J. D. Mooney had to cancel his riding engagements Wednesdyon account of a slight illness. The stable of M. Hyams, in charge of John . M. Pitz, is a recent arrival at Jefferson Park. The string includes Price Hill, Charlnat, Tickler and a yearling colt by Delhi. P. Reuter succeeds A. J. Plaque as trainer of the Derby Stable, which includes the j horses Battle Shot, Sophia Marie, Margaret 1 Ware and Proceeds. ; .
