NEW TURF BODY AT AURORA I | Exposition Jockey Club to Run the Spring Meeting to Be Held From June 4 to June 28. There have been rumors for some time that j there would be an entirely new association I in charge of the spring meeting at Aurora. I So it was no surprise today when it was 1 j i announced by Clifford It. Trimble, secretary j I and manager of the Central States Fair and ; ] Exposition, which owns the Aurora track, I ■ that such a change had taken place. Ac- , ; cording to Mr. Trimble, the new organization j i will be known as the Exposition Park Jockey i ! [ Club, composed entirely of Aurora sportsmen. ] ! Martin Xathanson, of Chicago, well known I as a turf official, is to be secured as pre-! , siding steward, and the spring meeting will ; ! run from June 4 to June 27. insead of from ] May 28 to June 30, as announced by the I I Fox Valley Business Mens Racing Associa- tion. I It was stated that the lease held by Charles Ford on the new mile track at Exposition Park has been canceled. Mr. Ford was the moving spirit in the old Fox Valley Business j Mens Racing Association, which staged race ; meetings in the autumn of l!»2;i and 1!»24, and j which has already announced a spring and . fall meeting for this year, the first of which j I was to begin May 2S. I It was further announced that John Rich, ! associated with Mr. Ford in the venture last j j i year, will have no interest in the coming ; meeting. Mr. Trimble said that the complete roster •f officials who are to serve at the June ; meeting will be made public in a few days, and that the new association had already received from horsemen applications for stable ] space for more than 300 horses. He further stated that the new organization would guarantee payment of all purses.
