w PADDY WINS SPRING CUP | SPECIAL CABLE; RAM. LONDON, England, April 2.— Lady Bradfords • j Paddy, by Colden Sun--Shanogun, won ; the Xewbury Spring Cup at Newbury today. I Mrs. J. Bancrofts Purple Shade was second I and Sir William Cooks Heliaster third. Twenty-two horses started. The French I horse Tapin, which won the Lincolnshire Handicap, was not placed. Paddy won by a short head, while a neck : Separate* Purple Shade and Heliaster. The betting was : Paddy, 20 to 1 ; Purple Shade, 100 to 12, and Heliaster, 20 to 1.
