WOODBINE TURF NOTES TORONTO. Ont., April 27. Phil Ungar with three head arrived here from San Diego last week. Arthur Brent. Mrs. Abbott and Charles Irby horses have arrived. Lady Chilton and Ledger, secured by F. J. Sabine via the claiming route in Maryland, are working impressively here. Greybourne. Robert Newells gray mare, worked a mile in 1 : 47 Saturday, the fastest of the year at this course. Colin Hagan and Norman Carlton are at present each morning schooling horses at the barrier. Harry Giddings, Jr., who was obliged to desert his stock at Port Huron on the way from Tijuana, due to an attack of mumps, finally reached here. Mr. Giddings is far f.orn well and has lost twenty-two pounds. -i The horses of Commander J. K. L. Ross will not run in Maryland this spring, but will be shipped direct from Chuchill Downs to Woodbine Park. Toyette. recently secured by W. G. Campbell from the Thorncliffe Stable, tossed off her boy in a recent gallop, but neither sustained injury. A. E. Alexandras Smackover is back in training. It was feared the two-year-old had pneumonia, but it was just a case of car fever. J. C. Fletcher. Paul Ciceri and E. J. Morrow are having a few days at Havre de Grace. "Jimmy McTague, who has been riding in good form in Maryland, will return with his contract employer, J. C. Fletcher. Troutling, imported from England a few years ago by Charles Rogers of Toronto, has been bought by Charles Millar and is back in training. Troutling has a two-year-old foal at Woodbine.
